What are the major differences between MLA, APA, and Chicago style formats?
Question by B1ujay: What are the major differences between MLA, APA, and Chicago style formats?
I am tutoring a student in writing and one of his major issues is keeping to Chicago format, which I’ve never had to use. Additionally, I have no idea how to explain the differences and why certain formats are preferred one over the other. Personally, I’ve always used MLA (except for one psychology class). I need to understand why someone would need to use Chicago over any other format when considering an AP History class (the kid’s toughest class right now).
@Miss Dementia: That’s sounds tortuously painful O_O

We had to use it. Just tell him to bring the manual, and have him look up the citation forms. MLA is for sciences. Who knows? Just make it easy for him. j
